Generator Cover Gasket for 1998-1999 Yamaha XL 760 - Replaces 6M6-81365-00-00

Aftermarket Generator Cover Gasket

The generator cover gasket seals the generator (magneto) cover, keeping water out of the charging system.

Gaskets compress and harden with heat and age and rarely reseal once a component has been removed, so it is good practice to fit a new one whenever the part is taken off. A leaking gasket can let water, oil or air in where it shouldn't be, leading to poor running, overheating or engine damage.
